Philanthropists Eric and Jean Cass commissioned this book to document their art collection following their decision to donate over 300 important modern and contemporary artworks to the Contemporary Art Society.

The book carefully documents each piece, as well as drawing out some of their recollections on how they came to obtain certain items.

Entitled Bleep, the book shares the name of Eric and Jean's home in Surrey, so-called after the word used to describe the high-pitched intermittent electronic sound made by paging receivers, one of the products marketed by Eric's company, Cass Electronics.
